Nicole Laughlin Attorney and Owner of Laughlin LawNicole Laughlin has a long and impressive legal background, starting with double majoring and earning Bachelor's Degrees in English and Criminal Justice from the University of South Dakota in 2002. While there, she also participated in several organizations such as Kappa Alpha Theta and Mortar Board National Honor Society.
Nicole earned her Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 2006 and served as both a staff writer and Lead Articles Educator of the South Dakota Law Review. She taught, and continues to teach, as an adjunct professor at the University of South Dakota, was an attorney at the Minnehaha County Public Defender's Office, was selected as Law Clerk for the Third Judicial Circuit of South Dakota, served as a Senior Public Defender, then worked as an appellate attorney. After years of obtaining legal experience and publishing two law review articles, Nicole Laughlin opened Laughlin Law in January, 2013. Since then, Nicole continues to represent a diverse clientele in an array of state and federal legal cases. Madi Miller Paralegal at Laughlin LawMadi has been at Laughlin Law since 2023. She graduated from the University of Sioux Falls with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. During college Madi interned at the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Sioux Falls. Madi also worked at a non-profit doing legal aid work prior to joining Laughlin Law.
Madi’s favorite part of being a paralegal is interacting directly with our clients and assisting them through the legal process. When she is not working she loves to travel, spend time with her family, and with her dog. Madi is also ordained to perform wedding ceremonies and available to officiate if you are ever in need of her services. |
